FLIGHT CANCELED

Flight Cancelled is a meditation on time slowing down, being forced to stop and suspended in space. The artist creates an installation based on airplane imagery that emerges from windows. Instead of flying boldly towards future travels, these little planes are suspended haphazardly in the air, reminding the viewer of their many postponed and unrealized plans.
Tonya Fa (Antonina Fatkhullina) is an artist from St. Petersburg, Russia who works mainly in sculpture and outdoor installations. She is a graduate of the St. Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design and has shown work and spoken at various exhibitions and international sculpture symposia.
